About Project
Renovating a 1940s house to bring it into the 21st century can involve anything from budget-friendly cosmetic updates to high-priced renovations that basically gut the interior and exterior to start rebuilding from scratch. This house was no exception. It was Vacant and the homeless had moved in. House was striped or wire, plumbing and should have been torn down. But the city would not allow the owner to build new. To keep as a renovation we have to keep 25% of the original home and that is what we did with the foundation, floor and three walls. Everything was redone from the bottom up to the house that you now see. The mantel was from the tree we removed in the back yard and the big rocks we from the yard. We reused and salvaged as much as possible. We love how this one turned out.
